About FFMD group:

Nel 2001, in un forum italiano chiamato Manga&co, un gruppo di sei ragazzi inizia per gioco a scrivere, in un topic dedicato, una Fanfiction Crossover tra Final Fantasy VII e VIII. Postando uno dietro l'altro e creando la trama un poco per volta, arrivano a riempire 32 pagine di forum.
~eglantine aka Claudia aka Moonlight inizia a dar un volto ai personaggi principali e a fine 2002 entra nel gruppo *AmanoHikari aka Elo, trascinata da Mir. Si occuperà dei personaggi legati alla Shinra.

Il 19 Marzo 2003 Lorenzo mette la parola fine nell'ultimo post. Se si incollano su word tutte le parole scritte in questi 2 anni si coprono 893 pagine. Un lavoro immenso.

Nella metà del 2003, non senza qualche dubbio e con tre scrittori in meno, i ragazzi decidono di riprendere in mano quanto scritto e risistemarlo. Entrano nel gruppo Lake e ~Wiccio che con Lorenzo curano le musiche, e (per un breve periodo) ~ayumi-studio che si era proposta per disegnare i GF.

Dal 2003 a oggi i membri del gruppo che si dedicano alla sistemazione dell'enorme bozza (correggendo incongruenze, tagliando e aggiungendo pezzi, curandone lo stile) stanno ancora lavorando.

Il gruppo delle chara designers poi si arricchisce nel 2005 del fondamentale e prezioso aiuto della talentuosa *Aziell che cura i GF, reclutata proprio su DA da *AmanoHikari.

La storia coinvolge il mondo di Final Fantasy VIII con quello di Final Fantasy VII (ma via via si estende anche ad altri episodi della saga) e si svolge 20 anni dopo la fine del VII e 2 rispetto la fine del VIII.
I personaggi principali sono sei e sono tutti originali. Ovviamente ci sono "incursioni" da parte di molti personaggi della serie targata Square Enix.
I SeeD, un archeologo e una biologa della Shinra si troveranno a combattere contro temibili nemici, in una lotta contro il tempo per evitare la fusione del multiverso.

About FFMD group:

In 2001, on Manga&co, an Italian forum, six people started to write a Crossover Fanfiction based on Final Fantasy VII and VIII. Post by post, the storyline was created from scratch, reaching the 32nd page of the forum.
~eglantine aka Claudia aka Moonlight started to sketch main character's portaits and, late in 2002, *AmanoHikari aka Elo joined the group, introduced by Mir. Shinra fellows of the fanfic was assigned to her.

On March 19 2003, Lorenzo wrote the last post of the fanfic, wich was finally over. Copying all this 2 years work in a word document fills the amazing size of 893 pages. An impressive work.

In Summer 2003, quite doubtful and minus 3 writers, the group decided to improve the huge work with an heavy restyling. Meanwhile, Lake and ~Wiccio joined the group as musicians with Lorenzo, and ~ayumi-studio took care, for a short time, of GF artworks.

Since 2003, the huge restyling work is in progress, fixing inconsistencies, cutting useless parts and adding new ones.

The artists group saw new life with the helpful and amazing talent of *Aziell wich begun to draw the GFs on 2005.

The story is based on Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy VII worlds, including other FF worlds as the story goes on, and it takes place 20 years after FFVII and 2 years after FFVIII adventures.
There are six main character and all fo them are original. But, of course, some characters of the famous Square-Enix saga make their appearance during the story.
Four SeeDs, an archeologist and a Shinra biologist will be involved in a huge fight against enemies and against time, to prevent the multiverse fusion.

Wow that is a lot of work and writing for you all to do. I am doing something similar with my friend SolBhonjai but nothing along the lines of final fantasy. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to do something like this and i am happy to see you guys are putting so much effort in it. I am hoping one day to make a web thinggy like this and spiff it up the way you guys have so far.
Awesome character pictures. Lots of detail in them and with the pictures and story all in tact i can only imagin how imagry of the story will be enhanced. Coloring and overall color used on those that are is amazing, you guys got the skill there which is spectacular.
I was wondering if you were doing full different character profiles or just mini ones. Kinda in in depth look at the characters. i love the whole reading about them because i am kind of a nerd on story things and that lol.
Really kinda hoping maybe you can translate English with most things (i see your working on it on the first page

) i wanna read it so crossing fingers i can

sounds like a lot of hard work and dedication placed in to the project and there is nothing better then sitting in front of your screen and reading a master piece

The work indeed is huge, and is nice to see that we have so much support!
We're putting a lot of effort in it, as much as we can in our spare time.
Every character has its own background story. Of course, main characters have a more complete an complex story than side characters, but we're trying to write this fanfic in the best way, without inconsistencies, and that means we have to plan every single detail of everyone's story. We'll think about writing down these infos for DA watchers

The work behind the artworks is quite huge and hard too. We're 3 artists with 3 different styles, and we keep improving in every pic we make, so it's hard to be satisfied with every piece we do. Plus, most of the characters has precise guidlines to follow, it's not really easy to draw something in this way. We're really glad that the results and the feedback are so good

As said, the work is quite big, and we're still working on the story itself, we can hardly immagine when and how this story can be translated in English. But we'll try to give infos about the story when we can

Awesome. How many characters in general are their in the timeline you need to go threw and discribe. I know making every character with its own past life into a story line can be long and well discribed. Pulling it all together was always a challenge for me, because of the timeline and how it all flowed in with eachother.
I hope you get an english verson of the copy, if not then i might have to go hunt down some people i know who can transolate lol. i just appreciate reading something people are working so hard towards things like these

I can see how the art work can get all changed and in a huff with three people because you need to go along the lines of ff and at the same time put the way you all three see that person. It can also be a good thing tho because maybe one person saw something in the character different that the others liked and so on. I constantly update my characters (not usually main ones but off ones) just because i find new things i think would go well with them as well that i never could think of but others could. Its really awesome to see you all switching back and forth with art ideas and more just to get this all up

i find it awesome that you guys are working so hard at this and i look forward to seeing the characters. I keep highh hopes for maybe on day for it to be english, til then i will oogle over the awesome artwork and keep an eye out on the updates

yeah, well, the thing about the character and the story was that we started to write the story without any idea of what to write. We were 6 ppl, we had our characters, we wrote without following any plot. So the story was created little by little, it was fun, but it became hard to fix all the details togheter and to find the right ending. The restyling has this purpose, we gave a meaning to everything, to every character, to every part of the story. We created a timeline since the beginning of the ancient world, as some GFs are decayed angels, and now we're trying to fix the whole written story.
I'd really like an Englsh versino too, but we're all Italian and we're all busy with the whole project, I don't really know how we could...
The main "problem" with the artworks is that this project is BIG. so, we're comparing our artworks, we always find new inspirations by other artworks. Doing something for such a long time means that the look&feel of your new works is really different than your older ones. But the big part is that we're kinda working under "commission". If I have to draw Mir's character, I have to make something that satisfies his owner. This means trying to look with his eyes, trying to understand what he has in his mind. And almost all the characters, main, bad guys, GFs and so on, have to be created in this way, following the guidelines of the other members of the project. It's not easy as drawing something for yourself
